Michael Ealy’s Series ‘Almost Human’ Not Renewed For 2nd Season

by on May 2, 2014

michael-ealy-almost-human-blallywood.comIts official. Michael Ealy’s part science fiction, part buddy-cop series Almost Human will not be renewed for a 2nd season on Fox. The shows viewership dropped reliably nearly every week. The premiere kicked off with 9.76 million live viewers, and the finale captured only 5.63 million viewers. These numbers are not acceptable for a Fox prime time slot. According to Deadline, Fox has too many great shows to choose from for the Fall 2014 lineup including Gotham, which features Jada Pinkett-Smith as a villian, The Red Band Society, which stars Octavia Spencer, and Empire, produced by Lee Daniels.  Empire stars Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard accompanied by a very large ensemble of Black actors. Read about it here. The news of the show’s cancellation doesn’t feel quite so bad if one of these shows is to replace it. And Michael Ealy certainly won’t have any trouble finding work. Catch him in Think Like A Man Too this summer.
