Naomi Campbell Is Joining Cast of Fox’s Empire

by on October 6, 2014

Naomi Campbell will be expanding her acting resume with a new TV role on Fox’s upcoming show, Empire. Empire, which features Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard in starring roles, is a hip-hop musical drama that will debut in spring 2015. Vogue writes that Campbell will be playing Camilla “an alluring woman involved in a steamy affair” with the heir to the family fortune. The article mentions that the show’s director, Lee Daniels, feels that Naomi Campbell is underrated as an actress. With all of her years spent strutting upon a stage, she’s certainly got the confidence and stage presence necessary to give a great performance. Still, the model turned actress is maintaining humility stating that, “It’s an honour to follow in the footsteps of actresses like Halle Berry, Oprah, Gabourey Sidibe and Mo’Nique and work with Lee Daniels. I’m looking forward to joining Lee and this amazing cast on set.” Have you seen Naomi Campbell act before? If so, what do you think about her addition to this promising television show?
