Tracee Ellis Ross and Regina King Will Host Black Girls Rock

BET’s Black Girls Rock special will air on Sunday, November 4, 2012.  This marks the award ceremony’s 3rd anniversary. Tracee Ellis Ross and Regina King  are returning as co-hosts due to popular demand.

The award ceremony is dedicated to honoring powerful black women. In BET’s own words

BLACK GIRLS ROCK! 2012 promises to deliver defining moments for women around the world through highlighting empowering stories of excellence from women of color from a broad spectrum of diverse missions and professional backgrounds.

This year’s list of award winners include

Dionne Warwick – Living Legend Award

Kerry Washington – Star Power Award;

Susan Taylor – Inspiration Award

Alicia Keys – Rock Star Award

Dr. Hawa Abdi and her daughters – Social Humanitarian Award.

Entertainment includes performances by Alicia Keys, Brandy, India.Arie, Keyshia Cole, Ciara, Taraji P. Henson and more.
