Tyler Perry’s Temptation Opens To $22.3 Million

tyler-perrys-temptationTyler Perry’s Temptation met expectations and accrued $22.3 million at the box office its first weekend. According to Business Insider, this is the 9th film by Perry to bring in a sum greater than $20 million its first opening weekend. Tyler Perry’s Temptation beat out Twilight author Stephanie Meyer’s The Host, which debuted in 6th place. G.I. Joe Retaliation and The Croods were first and second place respectively.  Do you think continued success of Temptation at the box office will help Tyler Perry earn more credit as a filmmaker outside of the Madea Franchise?
