Queen Latifah’s production company, Flavor Unit Entertainment, which produced Just Wright, Last Holiday, and many more films, has signed a deal with Netflix. The deal appears to give Netflix first dibs on selecting new releases from the company’s films, and exclusive rights to distributing these films.

According to CBS News, Ted Sarandos, Chief Content Officer of Netflix gave this quote:

“We are delighted to work with Queen Latifah to be the exclusive destination for what are sure to be relevant, entertaining movies. Queen Latifah has a long track record of creating hits and Flavor Unit Entertainment is a fresh and exciting voice in the industry.”

Latifah announced mutual excitement stating Netflix is a “strong brand and the perfect place to showcase our projects.”

The details of this deal are a bit hazy. Presumably Netflix will be the exclusive streaming destination for these films, while they are will still be available to purchase in DVD form, which is no surprise. But with Netflix offering its own shows available exclusively via streaming, its a possibility that Queen Latifah’s production company will produce exclusive entertainment for Netflix’s streaming library.  If this were to happen, would you be interested in watching an exclusive TV show from Netflix with the Flavor Unit stamp on it?
