Laurence Fishburne,  best known for playing the iconic mentor, Morpheus, in The Matrix, is starring in an upcoming sci-fi horror film The Colony.  In the film, humanity has been forced underground by the next ice age, and survivors are bombarded with even more dangerous threats.  Laurence Fishburne plays Briggs, leader of an expedition to find out what happened to members of another human colony they’ve lost contact with. Also joining the expedition are Bill Paxton and Kevin Zegers (Air Bud).

A summary from shoptillyoudrop.com gives us an idea what happens what happens once the expedition is underway:

After a hellish trek, they discover a threat much worse than imagined, and now Colony Seven must win asavage battle to preserve the last of humanity.

The film is currently in post-production, but is not scheduled to be released until sometime in 2013.
