Pearlena Igbokwe has taken over as Executive Vice president for Drama Development at NBC Entertainment. Igbokwe’s resume includes a 7-year stint at Showtime where she was involved in developing and or supervising shows such as Dexter, Masters of Sex (upcoming), Nurse  Jackie, Soul Food, and more.

Indiewire posted a press release that outlines some of Igbokwe’s career trophies, including being recognized in Hollywood Reporter’s Top 35 under 35, and Ebony and Black Enterprise’s Top 50 Showbiz Players.

Making the leap from Showtime, a less-censored, premium cable network with adult targeted programming, to family friendly NBC will be a change. How do you think Igbokwe will influence the NBC dramatic line-up?
