Tracee Ellis Ross Says Goodbye To Reed Between The Lines

by on August 20, 2012

Tracee Ellis Ross, star of the BET comedy Reed Between The Lines, will not appear in the second season.

The LA Times reports that while the characters’ marriage was presented in the first season as happy, in the second season it will be very different.  Alex Reed (Malcolm-Jamal Warner) will remain in Atlanta with the couple’s three children, while Carla moves to Los Angelas for her dream job. Alex just doesn’t feel the move is right for their children.

Losing a central character played by an actress who is a big draw for the show so early on in its run could be fatal. Meanwhile BET has cast 3 new actors, Michole White, Tony Rock and Charlie Robinson. It’s clear BET wants to hold onto the show. Is there any chance this might end well?
