Jennifer Hudson to Star As Nelson Mandela’s Wife
In a film entitled Winnie, Jennifer Hudson will play Winnie Mandela, wife to Nelson Mandela (played by Terrance Howard). The movie has already been filmed but, until a few weeks ago, ran the risk of not being distributed. There were reports of was negative buzz surrounding the film after it was screened at the Toronto Film Festival. TDJakes (T.D. Jakes) Enterprises has intervened and aims to finish the production, marketing, and distribution of the film.
The reason for the takeover of the film of a brink of dissappearing?
A quote found on Eurweb quotes T.D. Jakes as saying:
“Stories like ‘Winnie’ and ‘A Million Colours’ are important historically and socially. Collaborations like this offer us a unique ability to provide the global community a window into African culture through the creation of quality content,” said T.D. Jakes.
