Catch Anthony Mackie As Falcon In Captain America
Captain America: The Winter Solider will hit theaters on April 4, 2014. The film stars Chris Evans in the title role as Captain America, but this time he’s joined by a fellow hero played by Anthony Mackie (Repentance). Mackie is taking on the role of Falcon, Marvel’s first African-American superhero (Before you dispute that, note that the Black Panther was African!). He was trained in combat fighting, and wears jet powered wings. Falcon was also a member of the Defenders, the Avengers, and appeared in dozens of issues of the Captain America comic books. His success was so great that issues #134-#192 of the comic were titled Captain America and The Falcon. Samuel L.Jackson will also reappear in the sequel and it will be great to see a diversified cast, though we still need a Black superhero. Sorry Will Smith, but I’m not sure Hancock delivered what we are looking for.
