Unverified Boondocks Return Rumors Pop-Up On Black Media – Are They Actually True?

Black media outlets have been reporting that the animated series Boondocks, which has been off the air for nearly 4 years, is making a return this spring. High profile sites such as The Grio, and The Urban Daily are claiming that an all new season will debut April 21, 2014 at 10:30/9:30c pm. But any real evidence of this is next to none. A sole YouTube video is cited as the one and only source in every single news article. The video appears to be a commercial from the Adult Swim network. The video text reads: “We can’t give you any specific information but it airs April 21st at 10:30pm.

However, the video is posted on a YouTube channel titled JJMV9. Why isn’t it posted on the Adult Swim channel? The channel that posted the video has no other videos, no bio, and no video description. Where did it come from? Is it an attempt at a clever marketing tactic by Adult Swim, or just a joke?  Can any Adult Swim viewers vouch for the legitimacy of this commercial?

Meanwhile, no mentions of the word Boondocks have appeared on the Adult Swim Facebook or Twitter feeds for months.

Watch the YouTube video and post in the comments what you think about the situation. I’m curious to see whether anyone has see the commercial on TV.
