Pharrell Williams To Collab With Hans Zimmer On Amazing Spiderman 2 Soundtrack

by on November 17, 2013

pharrelwilliams-amazing-spiderman-2The makers of The Amazing Spiderman 2 have decided to do a musical 360 for the soundtrack to the upcoming sequel. While the first Amazing-Spiderman film was scored by the incredible, but, with all due respect, not quite edgy enough James Horner, the second will be scored by Hans Zimmer (Gladiator, The Dark Knight Trilogy). To top it off, Zimmer has recruited Pharrell Williams to collaborate on the soundtrack. This combination alone is enough to increase my interest level in the film!

The duo have worked together to score films in the recent past. Pharrell provided drums for Zimmer in 2013’s Man of Steel, and previously they collaborated on the Despicable Me soundtrack (Screenrant). Pharrell has had a very successful year contributing to chart topping songs like Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” and Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky.” If The Amazing Spiderman 2 is to appeal to younger fans on all levels, this announcement shows that the filmmakers are taking steps in the right direction.
