The upcoming film Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom is hitting USA theaters in limited release on November 29, 2013. The film stars Idris Elba and Naomi Harris, the latest Black Bond girl, as Nelson Mandela and his wife Winnie. The Weinstein Company is distributing the film, and they’ve picked an odd time to release it. Weinstein has Fruitvale Station on the slate in 2013, and you’d think they wouldn’t want their two films competing with each other for a place in the Awards season.
