BET Renews The Game For Season 7

by on April 3, 2013

bet-renews-game-season-7BET has announced that it has renewed its popular sitcom The Game for a 7th season (Deadline). Its a surprisingly fast announcement considering the ratings for the show have dropped following the departure of Tia Mowry-Hardrict (Melanie Barnett) and Pooch Hall (Derwin Davis). Last week when the 6th season premiered, just under 4 million viewers watched according to  TVByTheNumbers. The same source showed The Game’s debut in 2012 attracted 5.3 million viewers. Apparently studio executives think the shows ratings won’t continue to fall throughout the season. It is encouraging for fans to know that BET decision makers are confident enough in the upcoming material to assume the show will remain a hit.

Have you watched the first 2 episodes of season 6 yet? If so, do you feel the show has lasting power?
