Derek Luke And Jill Scott To Co-Star In Show By Homeland Director

by on March 12, 2013

Derek Luke (Antwone Fisher, Sparkle) and Jill Scott have been cast as dual leads in a CBS pilot for a show titled Second Sight. The show is being produced by Michael Cuesta, who has directed several episodes of the award winning Showtime series Homeland.

The series is about a law enforcement officer, Detective Tanner, who suffers from an autoimmune virus that causes hallucinations that interfere with his investigation. Detective Paul Giroux ( Derek Luke),  is an ambitious new member of Tanner’s team who is after Tanner’s job. Jill Scott plays the doctor who helps Tanner with his illness.  The series will also star Kim Dickens, Erik Jensen, Madison Moellers and Jason Le according to Indie Wire.

It’s an odd sounding show, and the details aren’t too clear. It’s difficult to determine whether the hallucinations play a role in investigations of the team (such as they do on Psych or The Mentalist) . Do you think the show will last long?

Both Luke and Scott will also star together in Baggage Claim, an upcoming Black romantic comedy that hits theaters in October 2013.
