Who knew Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs, who you’ll see Sunday in the Superbowl, was moonlighting as a filmmaker? He is credited as executive producer and writer of a new film called The Coalition, which you can purchase next month at Target, Walmart and other major outlets.
The film stars actors Eddie Goines (the guy from Beyonce’s “If I Were a Boy” music video), Denyce Lawton, J.R. Ramirez, Jackee’ and Adrienne Bailon. Terrell Suggs also appears in the film as a “Gala Attendee” according to the film’s IMDB page.

The release of The Coalition is a first for Terrell Suggs as a filmmaker, and a first for Monica Mingo, the film’s director. With a little help from the performance of  experienced actor Eddie Goines, who has appeared on House of Payne, Law & Order,  My Name Is Earl and the film American Gangster,  The Coalition has impressed critics, and even won Best Film at Urban MediaMakers Film Festival.

The film revolves around the character Prime Alexander who Eddie Goines plays in the film. Here’s his character description:
Prime Alexander is a professional basketball player living the life most men dream of. His money and fame give him and his boys an open door to all of life’s pleasures until a few women band together and join forces to bring these guys down a notch or two.
In addition to a being burgeoning actor, Goines is a former NFL player himself. He played for the Seattle Seahawks, the Indianapolis Colts, and New York Giants. A knee injury ended his sports career early, but since then he’s transitioned successfully into the film world.
