Motown the Musical Prepares For Debut With National Casting Tour

by on October 25, 2012

The upcoming Broadway production of Motown: The Musical is scouting the country for African-American talent to play roles in the show. The audition tour will visit

  1. Detroit November 3
  2. New York City November 3
  3. Los Angeles November 10
  4. Chicago November 18
  5. Atlanta December 1

The two major roles have already been cast.

Brandon Victor Dixon is starring as Berry Gordy, a Motown legend whom the show is based on. Valisia Le Kae is playing Diana Ross.

The public Broadway debut is April 14, 2013 at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre.

The music and dancing is sensational. The cast has been stirring up early excitement with performances in New York City starting back in September.

I would love to see this debut. It looks like one of the most exciting and fun prospects to hit Broadway in a while.
