Sanaa Lathan Confirmed To Star In Best Man Sequel
Sanaa Lathan has said she and the original cast are ready to return to make a sequal to 1999 film The Best Man. The sequel script, written by Malcolm Lee who wrote the original, is ready, but filming has not yet begun.
Read exactly what Sanaa said in this quote from VH1 via S2SMagazine:
“Everybody’s on board. We did a read through of the script not too long ago, and the characters 12 years later—I mean, it has the same kind of raunchy humor, the same kind of moving moments. The way that Malcolm has weaved in all of the characters and their storylines is great. I can’t wait for it to come together,”
She also indicated hesitancy about doing a sequel to a film that got things right the first time. The script must have been pretty good for her to overcome her inhibitions.
